Dave McComb and Simon Robe of Semantic Arts will be the instructors. This is an intensive, hands-on, interactive course which has been taught numerous times over the past two years. Students have attended from a wide variety of public and private organizations, including the US Air Force, IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, Chevron, Boeing, Deloitte, Lockheed Martin, Wells Fargo and ExxonMobil.

We get a tremendous response to this seminar which covers the material in a unique, and uniquely effective, manner. Students who have attended other courses in the field routinely tell us that, after attending ours, they finally “get it.” Places are limited to keep the learning more effective and attendance at the most recent sessions has sold out weeks in advance.

After this four-day course, you will understand:

What an ontology is and what it can be used for.

How representing information in an ontology goes beyond a conceptual model or a simple taxonomy.

URIs, RDF triples, OWL, TBox and ABox.

SPARQL, cardinality, namespaces, Qnames, bridging and federated ontologies.

The difference between frame-based/declarative classes and description logic-based/derivable classes.

The difference between open world and closed world models.

The basic principles for designing ontologies for corporate applications.

Some Comments from Recent Attendees:

“This was an excellent seminar that was eye-opening even for people who are already familiar with ontologies and OWL.”
-Bob Price
“Seriously good! I got what I came for… Many thanks-it was a week well spent.”
-Harry Ellis

Click here for more information and the complete course agenda.
