Day One comments (from Buzz): One day using Buzz I can only congratulate the maker team and you Jyri E ! Google Buzz is the best damn Google Product so far. It is highly addictive yet easy adapt for gmail fan.
I like the possibility to filter Buzzes to different threads or folders especially to save time and to keep order.
How big of a step Buzz is in the Social Media road map?
It somewhat replaces the need of installed twitter readers for many of us. We will see what is happening Tweetdeck, Seesmic now with Ping.fm, or Yoono’s connections to Buzz.
The impression is that is more personal than Facebook. The Discussions are more native and spontaneous than in Twitter.
The Syncronization with other Social Media services including my blogs seem to work OK.
Week One: The Privacy issues started to annoy. Someone found out my Blogger blogs and was able to send immediate updates to blogs via post method. The first fear caused were broken password, which made me close blogtheristo blogs. After cleaning that wednesday night all spam out of the blogs, and changed the passwords etc. I noticed that the company mail was full of notices of the emai not delivered. Due the fact that Blogger account had old email address the spam entries generated great amount of emails pinging in and out of different email accounts. It took me to the next morning to really find what this was all about. The Buzz was not treatin me nicely.
The Noise Issue: Too much people, so little time. So many threads, so little knowledge (from me that is).
Second Week: I restricted my writings mostly to private, deleting some of the first ones, stopped following any aggrerators and power twitterers (not in the Buzz that is), took out links and data from my Buzz profile that did not belong there, and tried to participate to Buzz discussions.
The best part of Buzz is that so many friends can be found there to discuss and to learn. Thank for having me as your trusted fellow Buzzer.
The Role of Twitter
The role of Twitter seems to be as it were before Buzz. Or I respect it little more than before. Thank you Twitter folks !
The Role of Facebook
No change.
What has changed with Buzz?
The biggest change is towards how I now see relationship with Google. There is pros and cons to this(Tba).
Good
Discussions with friends and learning from new discussions. Easy to adapt and participate.
Bad
Robert Scoble has written excellent techical analysis about Buzz. He mentiones the main issues from the technical side.
Google as dirty sweetener of my contacts, data, and allowing spammers and criminals take advantage of my account by lowering my privacy - the main concern for many with Buzz friends. I hope fixes come as fast as the apology..
